A Greener Future for Morocco’s Youth
Morocco is making significant strides in sustainable development, and nowhere is that more evident than in the success of the GREEN Project, a major initiative aimed at empowering young people with skills and job opportunities in the green economy.
Morocco is making significant strides in sustainable development, and nowhere is that more evident than in the success of the GREEN Project, a major initiative aimed at empowering young people with skills and job opportunities in the green economy.
Launched in early 2023, the “GREEN – Generating Renewed Hope for Moroccan Youth through Training and Job Placements in the Green Economy” initiative set out with a clear goal: to improve employability and economic inclusion for 2,000 young people from vulnerable communities across the country. Now, as the project concludes, it has surpassed expectations, reaching over 2,100 individuals, and planting the seeds for a more sustainable and inclusive workforce.
Delivered in partnership with EFE-Maroc and supported by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the project provided free training, mentorship, civic engagement activities, and entrepreneurship support in key sectors such as renewable energy, recycling, sustainable agriculture, and digital technologies.
One of the project’s standout achievements has been its focus on diversity and inclusion, with 50% of participants being women, and strong representation from regions including Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Casablanca-Settat, the Oriental, Souss-Massa, and Draa-Tafilalet. In total, the initiative supported the launch of approximately 40 start-ups, offering real-world career pathways and sustainable business solutions.
As Morocco deepens its commitment to green growth and youth employment, initiatives like the GREEN project demonstrate the power of targeted, skills-based training to transform lives and communities.
Building on this momentum, Recruit.ie is proud to host Jobs Expo Casablanca taking place on Saturday, 30 May 2026, bringing together employers, training providers, and jobseekers to explore real opportunities in green jobs, technology, education, public services, and more.
