Casablanca is taking a bold step into the future of STEM education with the launch of Morocco’s first team in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a globally renowned youth innovation initiative based in the United States. The programme was officially launched in December 2025 through a collaboration between the U.S. Mission and Loop for Science and Technology, marking a major milestone in Morocco’s commitment to fostering next-generation scientific and technological talent.
The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges high school students to design, build, and program fully functional robotic systems in an engaging and competitive environment. Beyond technical skills, participants develop critical teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, gaining hands-on experience that closely mirrors real-world professional contexts.
This initiative aims not only to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, but also to equip Moroccan youth with the skills needed for the global job market of tomorrow. As Morocco strengthens its STEM ecosystem, initiatives like this create pathways for students to explore careers in robotics, engineering, AI, and technology innovation, careers that will be showcased at Jobs Expo Casablanca 2026, on Saturday, 30 May 2026, where future talent, employers, and educators will come together to explore opportunities in Morocco’s expanding tech-driven economy.
