Casablanca is set to become a focal point for healthcare innovation in Africa when it hosts the inaugural GITEX Future Health Africa 2026 from 4–6 May 2026. The large-scale event will bring together policymakers, medical professionals, technology companies and investors to explore how digital solutions can reshape healthcare systems across the continent.
The conference is being organised through a collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health, and Kaoun International, the international events company behind several global technology exhibitions.
Focus on Digital Health Innovation
More than 15,000 participants from over 30 countries are expected to attend the three-day gathering in Casablanca, highlighting the growing interest in technology-driven healthcare across Africa and the wider region.
Organisers anticipate participation from over 300 healthcare and technology exhibitors, while around 200 startups will showcase emerging digital health solutions. The programme will also include more than 100 speakers from government, industry and academia delivering presentations and panel discussions across 15 hours of scheduled sessions.
Key themes expected to shape the agenda include:
- Artificial intelligence in healthcare
- Telemedicine and remote care
- Hospital information systems
- Data sharing and interoperability
- Innovation in health technology startups
The event will also host approximately 50 international investors, creating opportunities for collaboration and funding for emerging health technology companies.
Building Momentum for Jobs Expo Casablanca
The conference will act as an important lead-in to another major event in the city: Jobs Expo Casablanca 2026, which takes place on 30 May 2026. As global technology firms, startups and healthcare organisations gather in Morocco throughout the month, the city is expected to see increased engagement around employment, innovation and skills development.
The presence of technology companies and health innovators at GITEX Future Health Africa may also generate new recruitment opportunities, particularly in areas such as digital health, medical technology, data science and healthcare management. These sectors will feature strongly at Jobs Expo later in the month, where employers connect with job seekers and graduates exploring careers in emerging industries.
Casablanca as a Regional Innovation Hub
With two major international events taking place within weeks of each other, Casablanca is strengthening its position as a hub for technology, healthcare and career opportunities in North Africa. The combination of industry dialogue, startup innovation and recruitment activity reflects the broader transformation underway in Africa’s digital and healthcare sectors.
For professionals, graduates and entrepreneurs interested in the future of health technology, May 2026 promises to be a particularly significant month in Morocco’s economic and innovation calendar.
