In a significant move to advance sustainability and energy efficiency, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has partnered with the Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) to support Morocco’s industrial decarbonisation and workforce development in green technologies.
The $13.5 million initiative, announced at a signing ceremony in Casablanca attended by KOICA Country Director Hyewon Cho, AMEE Director General Mohamed Benyahia, and Korean Ambassador to Morocco Yeonjean Yoon, will run from 2026 to 2030. The programme aims to accelerate the adoption of low-carbon practices in key industrial sectors while building local expertise in energy efficiency and sustainable manufacturing processes.
The agreement underscores Morocco’s growing focus on clean industry and climate-aligned economic development. By fostering practical skills in green technologies, the initiative is expected to create new career pathways in emerging sectors, benefiting both workers and companies transitioning to more sustainable production methods.
Professionals and students interested in careers in sustainability, energy management, and industrial innovation will have the opportunity to explore related employment opportunities at Jobs Expo Casablanca 2026, taking place on 30 May 2026. The event will bring together leading employers, innovators, and industry experts, providing a platform to connect talent with Morocco’s rapidly evolving green economy.
This partnership highlights how international collaboration can drive industrial transformation while preparing a new generation of professionals to meet the demands of a greener future.
