Morocco Records More Than 42,000 New Business Registrations in First Five Months of 2026

Morocco's business community continued to expand during the first part of 2026, with 42,905 new businesses registered between January and the end of May, according to the latest figures released by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC).

The latest data points to sustained entrepreneurial activity across the country, with a growing number of founders choosing to establish their ventures through formal company structures.

Legal entities represented three-quarters of all new business registrations during the five-month period, accounting for 75% of newly established businesses. This marks an increase from the same period in 2025, when incorporated companies represented 71% of registrations, suggesting a continued preference for setting up businesses as registered companies rather than sole proprietorships.

Among the different legal structures available, the single-shareholder limited liability company (SARL AU) remained the preferred choice for entrepreneurs. It accounted for 65.5% of all newly incorporated companies, reflecting its popularity among individuals launching new ventures.

The traditional limited liability company (SARL) was the second most common structure, representing 33.6% of newly registered companies. Together, these two company types continue to dominate Morocco's entrepreneurial landscape, offering business owners flexibility while providing a recognised legal framework for growth.

The steady pace of new business creation reflects continued confidence among entrepreneurs and highlights the important role that small and medium-sized enterprises play in Morocco's economy. As more companies enter the market, demand for skilled professionals, recruitment services and talent acquisition is also expected to grow across a wide range of sectors.
