Morocco has taken a significant step toward strengthening its digital workforce following the signing of a new national partnership agreement in Rabat on 16 February. The initiative brings together key government ministries and AXA Group to develop advanced expertise across priority technology sectors.
The agreement establishes a coordinated national framework to expand skills in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, cloud computing and other emerging digital professions. It is designed to align education, research and industry needs more closely, ensuring Morocco’s workforce is equipped for rapidly evolving technological demands.
Central to the partnership is the expansion of both initial and continuous training programmes, alongside increased apprenticeship opportunities and collaborative research and development projects. Universities, public higher education institutions and specialised training schools will work directly with industry partners to ensure that course content reflects real labour-market requirements.
By strengthening the pipeline from education to employment, the initiative aims to build sustainable national expertise while supporting Morocco’s wider digital transformation ambitions. It also reflects a growing emphasis on practical, industry-led learning pathways that can respond quickly to emerging skill shortages.
As these new training and career pathways begin to take shape, professionals, graduates and jobseekers will have an opportunity to explore where they fit into Morocco’s evolving digital economy at Jobs Expo Casablanca 2026, taking place on 30 May 2026. The event will bring employers, training providers and talent together, offering a timely platform to connect emerging digital skills with real career opportunities.
